ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
- The Department of Computer Technologies consists of three programs: The Computer Programming program (1st Education), the Computer Programming program (2nd Education), and the Internet and Network Technologies program (Distance Education - UZEM).
- The department aims to train professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop software using current programming languages, specialize in designing web pages and software programs, set up computers and computer systems, facilitate the transfer of businesses to the web environment, and develop application programs for businesses.
- Graduates of the Computer Programming program are employed in the Computer Programming sector in firms producing goods/services, providing computer software and web software services, and in relevant public institutions and organizations, in line with the competencies they acquire. Prominent areas of employment include companies developing software applications, web design and service provider companies, banks, insurance companies, and the software, hardware, system, and application development departments of hospitals and large markets. Besides software companies, computer technical support companies and companies providing network and system support services are important business areas for our students. Furthermore, students often start their own companies or work part-time in areas such as Web applications, system, and hardware support during their studies.
- Graduates of the Computer Programming associate degree program can also transition to 4-year undergraduate programs such as Computer Engineering, Physics Engineering, Software Engineering, and Industrial Engineering by taking the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS).
